Special Session on Synthetic molecules for sensor applications
Dr. Krishanthi Jayasundera
Massey University

The recent development in technology had contributed tremendously for the chemical synthesis of various molecules used in sensor applications. This session aimed to provide a platform for the discussion on new developments on chemical synthesis of interesting molecules used in various sensor applications in the following related areas and not limited to:

  • Synthesis of coating materials for sensing surface - organic, inorganic or supra molecules
  • Surface modifications - capturing/molecular recognition, labelling
  • Enhancement of sensor surface

Dr. Krishanthi Jayasundera graduated from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka with honors degree in Chemistry. She obtained her both Master and PhD in Organic Chemistry from Kanazawa University, Japan. She worked as post-doctoral researcher at Massey University nearly 14 years in New Zealand involving various projects focused on the chemical synthesis of architecturally interesting molecules which have biological, environmental and /or medicinal significance.
